COP28 UAE- Reflections from building Raza Farm

A integrated (nearly) organic farm 100 kms from hashtag#bangalore, hashtag#India

Reason for investing:1.4 billion people will want food and water that will become scarce as with affluence folks overconsume. South India is suffering terribly from hashtag#climatechange & this is an acute problem facing our wider region

This project was started when I was the lowest ebb of my proffesional career & wish to share my reflections as many translate into hashtag#healthcare .

1. Taking Longer term view of Projects and People:
Takes long time to execute and deliver results. Some of biggest success stories of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company- SEHA - شركة أبوظبي للخدمات الصحية - صحة and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City - SSMC have come with us ploughing away in the background for years

2. Ecosytem of Building: "Dont Shit where you Eat".
I like my life in hashtag#UAE, hence focused on building and maintaining relationships. Our neighbours for Raza Farm are not folks who belong to my religion or class, but they where there when my mum got stranded during the first covid lockdown and I was in UAE. If I wish to live in that region for decades I have to be nice to my neighbours

3. Go Local: "Develop Local Solutions to Local Problems".
As had a lot of time on my previous job - I used to see many Youtube hack's and tried to implement in the farm- including trying to bring seeds and plants from all over the world. All failed to grow or thrive. Some of the best fruits are coming from plants which I have sourced from the region who are hardy enough to survive that region.

4. Everything is Interconnected: "Systems View of Analytics".
A hashtag#nephrologist goal is to prevent folks ending up on dialysis or atleast prevent them from getting hospitalized. Coming from leading centers of hashtag#kidneycare it was initially a shock but as I spent understanding the system, realized hashtag#kpis where misaglined. Here my friendship with Emre Simsekler opened my mind to why things work the way they do.Was the main trigger for the hashtag#digitilization of hashtag#renalcare in SEHA and SSMC. Because without data you can't get the executive sponsership for projects you need to do as an domain expert to improve care for your patients.

5. Objective Key Results- Objective has to be aspirational.
It is no longer Siddiq saying this as maybe he wants to practice what he has trained in- but this is best for patients or institutions. Then folks around you will lend their talent & graft to make the project ( and you) successful

Project RenAIssance has now been hashtag#peerreviewed & won multiple awards- from Department of Health Abu Dhabi, Ministry Of Economy, UAE, Ericsson, Northwestern University,Arab Hospitals Federation, Informa Markets, Kosmos by EchoNous , Cerner Corporation, Health Magazine HIMSS ..
